Our Team

Dr. Stephany Vong is the founder of Global Vision Optometry. She graduated from University of California, Irvine in 2003 with a degree in Biology and specializes in microbiology.  Dr. Vong received her Doctor of Optometry degree in May of 2007 from Illinois College of Optometry (ICO).  She has been in full time primary eyecare practice since her graduation.

She has managed over 35,000 cases in her career practicing in heavy foot traffic offices located next to retail Walmart settings as well as private practices.  In the year of 2012 to 2016, she operated as an Area Doctor who supervised other Managing Doctors practicing next to Walmart retail store. She was named Area Doctor of the year in April 2014 by Firstsight Vision Services, Inc.  In the year of 2017, she was named Managing Doctor of the year by Pacificwest Regional Eyecare, P.C. in Orange County area.  Prior to completing her degree as an Optometrist, Dr. Vong had 6 years of working experience as an Optometric Assistant/Optician, which made her a well rounded Optometrist.  

She also co-manages LASIK and Cataracts surgeries with the best surgeons in Orange County & Los Angeles County. Her passion is to provide excellent eye care to her patients with comprehensive eye exams and deliver vision to her patients to see the world whether it's via the means of glasses, contact lenses, or Laser Corrections.    

When not spending time with her patients, Dr. Vong enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She has 3 children, all 3 girls.  She enjoys swimming, traveling and tasting different types of ethnic food.  

Dr. Marianne Tran graduated from University of California, Irvine in 2003 with Biology major and received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007 from Illinois College of Optometry (ICO).  She’s been in full time primary eyecare practice since graduation. Dr. Tran was named Area Doctor of the year in 2015 by Firstsight Vision Services, Inc. & received the 2018 Independent Optometrist of the Year from Pacificwest Regional Eyecare, P.C.  Her passion is to provide excellent eye care with comprehensive eye exams.  

Dr. Tran enjoys spending time with her family on her time away from the office.  She has two children, a boy & a girl.  Her hobbies include running, traveling, and trying out different food.  She loves to explore Michellin Star restaurants with friends and family.

Dr. Kathy Truong is an Orange County native and graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2013 with a degree in Chemistry. She later received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry in 2022.

She has completed internships in different modalities including primary care, Neuro-Optometry and Vision Therapy in private practices, ophthalmology practices, and at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Orlando, FL. She is fully licensed to treat and manage ocular diseases, and is glaucoma certified. She has a passion for providing exceptional eye care to her patients. In her spare time, Dr. Truong enjoys baking, crocheting, sewing, going to Disneyland, and traveling the world.

Vanessa is our optical manager and she’s been with us since the day we opened our practice.  She had 7 years of experience in the optical industry prior to joining our team. Vanessa also had the experience working with children in the Discovery Cube for a few years.  Vanessa has 2 daughters and enjoys spending time with them on her time off. She also enjoys taking walks at the park.

Heidi has been our optician for about a year now.  She has 6 years of experience in the optical industry.  12 years ago, her mother had cancer in her eye and since her mom’s recovery, she has been working hard at teaching patients on how to preserve their eye health and vision while looking good. She has a lovely son and enjoys spending time with him on her time outside of work, going to the library with him. She enjoys paddle boarding and theme parks.

John has been our technician for almost 5 years now.  He has been in the optical industry for about 5 years.  John has a younger brother who he enjoys being challenged with complex video games together. John also enjoys watching movies, reading comics and exploring different cuisines during his time off.

Emily is our amazing optometric assistant, graduated from UCI with a Public Health Science degree.  She’s knowledgeable from optical to assisting doctors with exams.  Her goal is to pursue the field of optometry and become an optometrist one day. Emily has 2 siblings and a dog named Stella. She enjoys spending time with them and trying new foods.

Cayce is our newest addition to our team.  She’s amazing at being our optical assistant. Cayce enjoys traveling around the world whenever possible.
